No, the point is that Apple (regardless of the ease or difficulty of bypassing the PIN or thumbprint) did this some 70 times in the past.
Why now, when there is a genuine need to do so, are they refusing to open it? Because they don’t want to destroy their Muslim market.
Because now they're being ordered to write a decryption program that doesn't exist.
No. I'd say the technical difficulty is, in fact, the point. The feral government is attempting to get Apple to subvert their own designs, when it is not even entirely sure that it is even possible for them to do so.
They are using it as an excuse to give them global access to any iPhone. If they want it so bad, they can figure it out themselves. Frankly, if they'd actually done thisir jobs, the terrorists in question wouldn't have even been in the country to commit their crimes. So now the feral government is attempting to leverage their previous failure as a wedge to open up more avenues to invade the privacy of Americans. It must be great to have a heads I win/tails you lose job.
I can't understand why they didn't do it like we would do the ol' SSS...shoot, shovel and shut up. Do what has to be done, just keep quiet about it.
Lovely, and absolutely insane theory based on ZERO facts. AS has been posted EVERY TIME this same story (and variations of it) is posted - iOS changed in 2014. Apple INTENTIONALLY wrote themselves out of a bypass/backdoor. IT was a desired feature of consumers putting an ever-increasing amount of personal data and financial stuff on their phones/iDevices.
Exactly right. I’ve been holding off on commenting on this topic waiting for something like this to come to light.
If it’s indeed true that Apple has unlocked 70 iOS devices in the past, then what’s the problem here? If it’s true they had a process to do so while protecting their IP and iOS security then they don’t have a leg to stand on in this case.
That is, IF this story is true and it’s not some Obama admin propaganda or smear job designed to pressure Apple. Yes, I’m that skeptical of EVERYTHING in the media.
Posted from my iPad Mini, btw.
