People don’t like the idea of clergy telling them whom they should and should not vote for in order to be in good standing with God.
It’s something people have been adversely against since the start of this nation.
For what its worth, Dr. James Dobson is a psychologist and has never claimed to be a pastor or clergy. He simply is a highly respected man in Evangelical Circles because of the books he has written and the organization he founded, Focus on the Family.
When I read your posts, I smell the ghost of “content neutrality” justices.
Mr. Dobson did not tell anyone how to vote - he expressed his support as a private citizen.
Personally, I wish there were more people who have walked the walk like him who are willing to provide their perspective allowing others to improve their and their families’ lot.
By the way, have you ever heard of the “Black Robed Regiment” of the American Revolution? Do you think we would be here if they hadn’t influenced the people in their congregations?
