Was the link to a proper photo sharing site or a “hot link” to another website? The latter generally aren’t permitted because they bring heat on FR. The issues are consumption of someone else’s bandwidth and copyright concerns.

What is happening is that copyrighted pictures are being posted on FR.

FR is responsible for content.

Getty could thus sue FR because their pictures appear on FR's sight without their consent.
