I have a 2014 Rubicon w/ the 6-speed manual and it has worked great for me. In 2012, Jeep started dropping the Chrysler Pentastar in the Wrangler, which does give substantially more HP and torque than the older engines. I'm about 30K miles into mine, and no issues whatsoever thus far.

Since retirement I have two conflicting vehicle requirements. I need a long distance highway cruiser that will deal with winter, gas cost and ride quality and I need a forest road and fire road back woods banger. I already have a second vehicle that is needed to tow a boat sitting idle out-state. The wrangler is not a highway cruiser.
