No Ford’s or Toyota’s. I’m in the market for something to replace my 2007 Explorer and it’s between a Ford Edge and a Toyota Tacoma. I’m leaning heavily towards the Taco, as I am not happy with any of the local Ford dealers for various reasons and I had an ‘85 Toyota truck that was the best freakin vehicle I ever owned.

Lots of Fiat products on that list, not surprisingly!

I have a 2013 Tacoma and can confirm that at least through then the quality is superb.

I won't consider buying a Ford.

They're made in Mexico.

Plus, I just don't like a Ford or the families politics.

At least the Toyota and the engines for them are manufactured in the USA, giving jobs to Americans.

Well, mostly Americans...as I'm sure some damned wetbacks got hired one way or another.

I've got no dog in this hunt, but Toyota has had a problem with frames. Maybe this has been addressed.

Don’t overlook Subaru. We rented one by accident in 2011, liked it so well we bought a new one in 2012 and a new one in 2014. Quality is quite high for the money, quite reliable.

Only problem I’ve had is with the dealer, they practically insist that they do oil changes and refuse pictures and log books as proof of the owner doing the work. I had to scream my head off to get the service manager to accept pictures of me rotating the tires, it’s like I took off all four tires, took pictures, never bothered to rotate them, and put them on the same hubs again. Total eff’ing lunacy.

But that’s a crappy dealer. The car is very good.

Toyota Tacoma. They are great. Mr. GG2 wants one. They are pricey but good quality.
