15 New Cars To Avoid (2015)
Forbes ^

New cars just aren’t what they used to be. No, we’re not getting all crotchety and decrying the evolution in styling and technological breakthroughs that have literally reinvented the automobile during the last quarter millennium. Rather, we’re bemoaning the fact that, unlike as in past model years, there’s a dearth of truly wretched cars on the market for us to openly and readily ridicule.

We consulted J.D. Power for the latest results in the company’s initial quality and long-term reliability surveys and its scores for performance and design; rankings for resale value depreciation came from the automotive valuation experts at ALG. Finally, we weighed in with no less an expert source than Consumer Reports to check which models received particularly paltry scores for performance and overall value.

Mini Coopers have some of the highest levels of owner satisfaction, despite also having the lowest levels or reliability.

Some people don’t care how poorly a car is designed or built so long as it looks “cool”, or gay in this case, as professed by Mini themselves.

Scroll down 1/2 way - there’s a big black rectangle that says ‘Next’

I have a 5 series and love it. Yeah, I think the 3 series cars are pretty bullet-proof.

#'s are great, I'm on my 5th. 5's are even nicer.

VW/Audi also dodged the list.

Bummer. Jeep would be my first choice for an offroad vehicle. Maybe the wrangler.

Most of the suv these days are creampuffs with a long turning radius, etc. A compromise between a passenger car and a 4WD. Not something that you'd want to take offroading.

Maybe it’s something like lack of shared parts and design? Says something that the 7 is worse than Jaguars or Rovers!

I think the point the writer was making was that even the bad cars weren’t that bad. Not like in the 70s and 80s.

I have a 2013 Tacoma and can confirm that at least through then the quality is superb.

I won't consider buying a Ford.

They're made in Mexico.

Plus, I just don't like a Ford or the families politics.

At least the Toyota and the engines for them are manufactured in the USA, giving jobs to Americans.

Well, mostly Americans...as I'm sure some damned wetbacks got hired one way or another.

I rode in a Cadillac XTS last month. The driver complained about the site lines, and I had trouble getting out of the passenger side. Maybe the seat wasn’t adjusted properly, but I wasn’t impressed by the ergonomics of ingress/egress.

-he 3 series cars are pretty good compared to the 7s-

Don’t know squat about the 7 series, probably couldn’t afford one if I wanted one anyway. But I bought my wife our 1st BMW last year. it’s only a 3 series but it’s OUR 3 series, and we love it. I should say my wile loves it. Only time I get to drive it is to put gas in it or when she is in it. She wont even let me drive it to work. lol.

I guess they are saying that those diesels sold by fraud were a good deal, after all.

Well, if they have Lucas electrics, it ought to all cancel out.

I still get weepy about my old Suburban. Best vehicle I ever owned. The new ones are out of our budget plus here in TX they have a bazillion miles on a used Sub. We now have a Nissan and it’s a great little SUV except for the confusing dashboard. Japanese payback.

Back in the 60s-early 70s you'd buy a new car with a three year loan and just as you paid the loan off you'd have to do it all over again because the car had fallen apart.
