My theory as to why young, millennials are so pro-Bernie
That’s true. My best friend from high school got hit with that.
I see not only are you the posting constable, you are a grammer nazi too.
Any other badges you are hiding?
libtard programming + libtard fantasies + gullibility + naivete = millennials’ parasitical worldview of getting the unearned, undeserved and something for nothing
My story is similar. Luckily both of my Eagle Scouts know how to work, are aware of the world, and are conservative. I’m blessed.
Imagine being a present day late 20-something pothead with unfortunate tattoos and shower curtain rings in your ears and a fishhook in your lip. You've mutilated your body for some dumb counterculture fashion and now nobody will give you a job so you have to live with your mom.
On top of that, you have to be a fat scraggly-beard retard with dorky librarian glasses and a Pinocchio hat. Your whole life is nothing but video games and online porn and hating people that are getting ahead of you -- which is pretty much everyone who didn't 'wake a bake' when they arose from bed at 11:45am and smoked a bowl of marijuana. Wasting your life away like a complete gaywad.
All of a sudden, some creaky old US Senator comes on the teevee and tells you that the big shots have been ripping off America and it's up to you to join him (by doing nothing more than to declare you're 'Feeling the Bern' on that Internet you're always glued to -- often with your own genuine bodily fluids) and save America from itself. You don't even have to lift a fat finger until November of this year at which time you're going to get mountains of all the free stuff the rich guys have been stealing from you your whole life.
When Romney referred to the “47%,” everyone pounded on him. Now it is closer to 50%. As long as the EBT Cards get re-charged every month, who cares? But wait until the cards no longer get re-charged...
My theory is they’re brain dead.
Although our modern socialists' promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere, in recent years observer after observer has been impressed by the unforeseen consequences of socialism, the extraordinary similarity in many respects of the conditions under 'communism' and 'fascism'. As the writer Peter Drucker expressed it in 1939, 'the complete collapse of the belief in the attainability of freedom and equality through Marxism has forced Russia to travel the same road toward a totalitarian society of unfreedom and in- equality which Germany has been following. Not that communism and fascism are essentially the same. Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion, and it has proved as much an illusion in Russia as in pre-Hitler Germany.âNo less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice versa was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom.
What is promised to us as the Road to Freedom is in fact the Highroad to Servitude. For it is not difficult to see what must be the consequences when democracy embarks upon a course of planning. The goal of the planning will be described by some such vague term as 'the general welfare'. There will be no real agreement as to the ends to be attained, and the effect of the people's agreeing that there must be central planning, without agreeing on the ends, will be rather as if a group of people were to commit themselves to take a journey together without agreeing where they want to go: with the result that they may all have to make a journey which most of them do not want at all. - F A Hayek,

We both are blessed. Much to be thankful for. I try to support one of our local Scout troops when I can since my youngest grandson is also an Eagle. Their fundraising project last fall involved placing a large American flag in subscriber’s front yard four times a year. Was so proud to see Old Glory waving in my yard this morning. Several other families on our cul de sac street also proudly displayed the flag - not the family from Russia who live next door to me or any of the Asians or Hispanics however.
Happy President’s Day.
Thank you
Good analysis. It may be that for some. For others, he reminds them of a popular sit-com character...Larry David.
I have told my kids since they were little, oldest is 19 now in his 4th year of college with double major, that we would not pay for college. We will help here and there with some things but tuition and room and board are your responsibility. They have worked and done tons of research to get scholarship and in true Trumpian fashion have learned that tuition and scholarships are negotiable if you go to the right people at the college and are persistent. I have two in college now and three more on the way in the next 5 years. They also have been brought up to know that going to school is not your full time existence. You can take classes and study 60 hours week but that still leaves time for not only play and rest but a substantial amount of job time. My son got a job at his college, really cool one, not washing dishes in the cafeteria or mowing the grass, but writing software for their radio telescopes. He got it because he excelled in classes and made really good connections with his profs. Another thing we have made clear to our kids is that if you have to take on any debt in college you better make sure your in a degree program that will get you a real degree and and a job, no social justice, sociology, or foo foo degrees.
How awesome. Speaks well of you all as parents. I’m sure you are incredibly proud of them. Thanks for sharing your success story.
When folks go around calling others “morons” using improper grammar, it’s everyone’s obligation to point it out.
I hope that doesn’t bother you too much.
Socialism has never been about 'freedom'. Socialism can only triumph when and where the mind is corrupted and damaged via indoctrination. Indoctrination is the opposite of a free mind.Although our modern socialists' promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere- F A Hayek,The Road to Serfdom (Reader's Digest Condensed Version)
My daughter’s belief in AGW is genuine and sincere, too - and utterly ill-founded.The rest of the quote from which you pulled that - say nothing of the book as a whole - is a polemic against socialism. I commend the link to you, if you have never read Serfdom. It is, as you likely may know, a classic written during WWII by an Austrian emigre in England.
Heh... I’m sure you will.
