SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The California Highway Patrol is investigating a bizarre attack on the Golden Gate Bridge. Someone armed with a blow gun shot darts at two visitors walking across the bridge.
It happened around 2 p.m. Friday on the east sidewalk of the span. Two different people were each hit with a blow dart as they were on the bridge walking toward Vista Point in Sausalito.
The two people were not seriously injured. They were treated by a paramedic at Vista Point and then released.
The CHP wants to track down the person or people who did this. They showed us both blow darts are about four inches long. One of them penetrated one victim's thigh pretty deep.

The attack was on the GGB so it could have been a tourist.
Blow darts are usually used to deliver something, sedative usually. Have they checked them for the presence of anything untoward?

My guess is that the people getting hit are all of a certain body type, sex and ethnicity.
If the guy (and I feel certain it’s a guy) finally pulls it off, I think some out-of-towner will wake up disoriented on a park bench somewhere with a VERY sore fanny and later discover they’re famous...
The darts are being tested for traces of anything..
Who knows how long to confirm any results..
One of the darts supposedly went in two inches.. But victims were cleared medically.. For now.
I would be very worried about HIV, given the location.
I have a blow dart thingie that I picked up in Bali, but I don’t think I could manage to get a dart to stick into a piece of styrofoam from 10 feet away. I guess it takes a bit of practice.

Not sure.. They showed and example gun and dart.. If that combo was used? Don’t know.
