Any thoughts on the matter?
As Christie was destroying Rubio during the debate, I thought he’s going to be Trump’s VP.
All Christie showed in that exchange was how little he knew about Obama and his true agenda. Rubio had said that it was wrong for people to say Obama didn't know what he was doing - that he knew full well what he was doing: intentionally destroying the country. ie, "fundamentally transforming" it. If he did make an error it was in not fighting back harder to make that point clear.
Yep.
A box of Krispy Kremes.
Christie has been on the two young senators since the first debate.
He would make a good AG
We owe Christie gratitude for exposing Rubio for the mindless robot he is, and for sticking in it long enough to bring him down. Thanks governor!
He repeated it four times.
We know The Usurper is intentionally transforming the country. He told us he would.
None of the people we elected to stop him have tried very hard, including Rubio. He tried to give the Democrats a permanent majority with his amnesty plan.
Christie was hugging him.
Cruz voted for cloture on the trade deal.
They have all helped in some way.
Christie simply pointed out what I had seen for myself, Rubio is the Memorizer Bunny.
Very, very little happens in the political sphere without some manner of quid pro quo.
It only gets worse in a Presidential election cycle.
Probably not. There was no upside for him going after Trump or Cruz and Jeb was in the same spot he was. His only hope was totally destroying Rubio (he did) and picking up a good 3rd, then see how things proceed.
He may support Trump, but I don’t think he will. He could be Trumps VP pick, but Trump likes bold and brazen moves so who knows. He may pick Bernie Sanders for VP for all I know.
My view is that Christie did it as a last-ditch attempt to peel off enough votes to remain a viable candidate. The easiest target was Marco Roboto - debate take-downs usually occur after the candidate repeats the same thing over and over again on the campaign trail...just ask Dan Quayle about his referencing of Jack Kennedy and he being of similar age. Rubio was Christie’s biggest threat, the emerging Establishment candidate after Iowa, and Christie wanted that position. Oh, well, it wasn’t meant to be.
WRT Christie being in the Trump Administration...I could see him as the A.G. or the head of Homeland Security, but NOT as V.P. First, the guy is a good attorney and would aggressively fight the government’s battles; if at DHS, he’s had lots of experience with fighting/containing terrorism because of where his state is located and his legal experience. Second, if he is the VP candidate, Trump may well lose - there are LOTS of conservatives who could stomach Trump of there was a conservative on the ticket (Sarah Palin on McCain’s ticket, anyone?), but if the potential successor is just another RINO they will stay home. I don’t think that Trump is that stupid...or stupid enough to think that 2 guys from the Northeast makes for a balanced ticket.
Bump!
From the transcript...
RUBIO: And let’s dispel once and for all with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing. Barack Obama is undertaking a systematic effort to change this country, to make America more like the rest of the world.
That’s why he passed Obamacare and the stimulus and Dodd-Frank and the deal with Iran. It is a systematic effort to change America.
-snip-
CHRISTIE: We’ve heard it said on the stage that President Obama knows exactly what he’s doing.
-snip-
RUBIO: Here’s the bottom line. This notion that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing is just not true. He knows exactly what he’s doing.
CHRISTIE: There it is. There it is. The memorized 25-second speech. There it is, everybody.
RUBIO: Well, that’s the — that’s the reason why this campaign is so important. Because I think this notion — I think this is an important point. We have to understand what we’re going through here. We are not facing a president that doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows what he is doing. That’s why he’s done the things he’s done.
That’s why we have a president that passed Obamacare and the stimulus. All this damage that he’s done to America is deliberate. This is a president that’s trying to redefine this country. That’s why this election is truly a referendum on our identity as a nation, as a people. Our future is at stake.

Ingraham, Ann Coulter & Howie Carr hate Rubio & tolerate Chris Christie. I think it rubbed off.
Christie doesn’t need an incentive to go nasty.
And, he wasn’t where he needed to be with everything else he had tried.
One of the ways Obama is redefining this country is importing voters. Rubio signed up to help him with that.
I have had no use for Rubio since I saw him yucking it up with his Gang.
Yep. A NY/NJ ticket with two loudmouths isn’t happening.
But Trump wouldn’t have been able to take down (for now, at least) Jeb or Christie Rubio if their jabs didn’t reinforce a sense that people already had about the candidate.
Same thing with Perry forgetting the third department that he said he’d eliminate—people were already afraid he was the idiot he sounded like.
I agree he’d be a good AG. Been saying this for a while now to friends. NOT VP though.
Who would have made the promise? Did Trump want Rubio out of the way, or did the Bush wing of the establishment want to give us no choice other than Trump, Cruz, or Bush, so we would all finally realize what we’re missing out on?
Rubio took himself out...but regardless, who cares.
