Ummm I live in California. A few years ago inreplaced the old 28 inch tv in our living room and set it out in the garage with some other stuff for Goodwill. When they came they refused to take it. Just said they don’t take them anymore.
That’s when it’s time for “midnight dropoff” LOL
That was “a few years ago.” Most Goodwills now are eager to get them because they’re now a money-maker due to the recent advent of the state’s recycling buyback program, at $0.20/lb. or so. However, Goodwill foundations are regional and vary according to management strategies, and it may be the one in your area isn’t interested. That’s especially true for larger TVs, because large CRTs are heavy and thus dangerous to lift—some have imposed size limits for that reason, such as 25” or 27”.
