Maybe they didn't shape modern comedy, but both are still hilarious. John Candy deserves a mention, so he's getting it here. RIP John Candy...gone too soon.
I only read like the first seventy five,
but I doubt they included Andrew Dice Clay, too.
"Uncle Buck" and "My Uncle Vinnie," still make me laugh every time. I consider them classics.
If you ever get a chance, see "Ruggles of Red Gap." It is with Charles Laughton from 1935. Classic American comedy.
No Monty Python or Blazing Saddles. Too much later stuff.
