Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is already looking ahead to forming his top White House team and is considering one of his sons as the head of the Interior Department.
In an interview with Petersen's Hunting, he offered both his sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, as the cabinet secretary because they are hunters and anglers and members of key conservation and Second Amendment groups.
In the interview with editor Mike Schoby, Trump said that "ideally" he wants an outdoorsman to run the agency that manages federal land.
"Ideally yes, they'd be better at it," said Trump.
In the interview with his father, Donald Trump Jr. said that the Interior job has been the talk inside the family for months.
"We understand hunting as conservation," said Donald Jr. in the interview Schoby did for his magazine and its parent company, Outdoor Sportsman Group.
Donald Jr. said, "Our big inside joke over Thanksgiving and Christmas, now that this thing has become very real with the presidency, is, 'Hey Don, the only thing you'd be doing in government is actually Interior.' So I don't know if I'd be the head of it or just informing the [head], but rest assured that hunters and shooters and others know that I'd have his ear."
Both sons are long-time hunters and Donald Jr. said that he just became the youngest board member of Boone & Crockett Club, the nation's oldest hunting and conservation group founded by former President Theodore Roosevelt.
In the interview, Trump also said he would end gun free zones around military bases and local schools even if he has to "override the states" with federal laws.
And the long-time National Rifle Association members warned that Democrat Hillary Clinton wants to eliminate the Second Amendment. "I think it's going to be gone," he said, adding, "she will destroy the Second Amendment as you know it."
JFK had RFP; it didn't seem so bad then.
Don't get me wrong. I like Trump's kids almost more than I like him, what I've seen and heard of them.
If Trump were to become president, it would be almost inevitable that at least one of his kids would follow in some position, unless everything falls apart which it well could.
Better than a murder of clinton crows.
Title 5, 3110 of the United States Code states:
A public official may not appoint, employ, promote, advance, or advocate for appointment, employment, promotion, or advancement, in or to a civilian position in the agency in which he is serving or over which he exercises jurisdiction or control any individual who is a relative of the public official.
This anti-corruption statute is reasonable enough, but the plain language also applies to the President. In other words, John F. Kennedy could not have appointed Robert Kennedy as Attorney General if this provision had existed in 1961. (The statute was enacted in 1967, probably in response to RFKs nomination.)
Will Trump's colorist give us the name of the color of Orange used on his hair?
Really intriguing thoughts can be answered now by The Donald, to save us the anxiety!
No need to panic, people my age (59) remember when the Kennedy family ruled the roost, having John Kennedy as President, his brother Robert Kennedy as Atty, General, and later Teddy (The Lion!) Kennedy as a long serving Senator, and general Pain in the rear to conservatives. Nepotism is not necessarily Despotism.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a hunter/outdoorsman as the head of interior? It was obvious from the article that Jr was joking about it being him.
What he was saying is...dad’s got the hunter’s back.
[Those that have NO sense of humor cannot understand a “joke” when they read it and must call it a “plot”.]
Cruzers either have bad reading comprehension skills, or can’t get beyond a headline before losing their minds.
Was a problem. Don't want a repeat.
JFK, RFK. Bad idea then, bad idea now.

Passed in 1967, this was in reaction to Kennedy's appointment of his brother as Attorney General.
Haven’t you heard, the Exec branch is above the law.
My point of Trump resembling Madoff, is how Madoff treated his investors, wine and dine them, tell them anything just get their money. Guess it's just that way in the Rich and Fast lane........NO I don't feel sorry for those investors, how did they get so rich to become so Stupid.
HEY don't panic Trumpsters: I love RICH people, gives us jobs...what they do behind the scenes is their business until it comes out that it effected our business. Truth always comes to the surface.
First woman VP, clear sailing on to the Trump Dynasty.
“What would Attorney General Robert Kennedy have to say about such blatant nepotism?”
LOL - exactly.
(But, probably not much with that big hole in his head.)
Don’t get too excited - the latest General polls at RCP show only Rubio beating both Clinotn & Sanders. Trump loses to Clinton.
I found the Madoff show UNWATCHABLE. It is a show of advertisements with a sprinkling of drama that still tries to convince us that the sons knew nothing about it. Yeah Right.
For me its Cruz first Rubio a distant second and then Ross Per.. sorry djt an even more distant 3rd.
but will VOTE against the whatever the other major party puts up.
Had enough Trump yet? Cruz is the better choice for POTUS.

Ted Nugent for Interior Secretary.
