Nice! I’ll be buying some of these. Reminds of when early CPU chips (8008, 8080, 6502 etc.) became cheaply available in the early 1970s and sparked a personal computer revolution. This may foster a new round of personalized computing gear. Mini-robots, specialized headgear, computers built into cheap 3D printers, etc.

Devices with similar specs have been available on Amazon or EBay for a while now, that you plug into the HDMI port of a HDTV but they usually cost at least $40. I like that this one comes with a lot more RAM than a typical tablet which is the most comparable device that most of us are used to.

Looks to me like the 19 dollar version with 1GB ram is the sweetspot...it’s worth 4$ more IMO.

Serial feed input is still way too slow. 32 and 64 bit parallel input ports are faster and you can flip them...

Doesn’t that 1.2 GHz CPU require at least a heat sink for cooling?

well not quite 15 dollars but i have a raspberry pi 2 at home that was around $60 all in (case, cables, hard drive (aka sd card) etc)..i used it as a 1080p htpc upstairs running kodi and linux. absolutely amazing piece of kit..and runs on a usb phone charger...just this weekend started to repurpose it as a live tv server...
so i understand what they are trying to do, but its a fairly crowded market already out there...

I got in on the kickstarter for this. They had a rather amazing campaign. It’s going to be a pretty cool toy.

Hmm, Android apps on a $15 system? - ANDROID PING!
Android Ping!
If you want on or off the Android Ping List, Freepmail me.
I will admit it - I'm a tech guy (aka geek). This is one of those things I want to buy and fool with even though I cannot think of a good reason or use for it - right now. Kind of like Raspberry Pi's, old Android phones... So much potential. The funny thing is, if you bought this and a good quality HDMI cable of 6 ft or so to connect it to your TV the cable would probably cost more than the computer...
