Early Saturday morning, Ludivine, a two-and-a-half-year-old hound dog, was let out of the house in Elkmont, Alabama, to do her business. Prone to roaming around town at will, Ludivine snuck out of the backyard and made her way to the starting area of the inaugural Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon about a quarter mile away.
Ludivine proceeded to mingle with the runners, run the entire 13.1-mile course, cross the finish line in an unofficial 1:32:56, and have a medal draped over her floppy brown ears--all without her owner, April Hamlin, realizing she had wandered off in the first place. The incident was first reported in Canadian Running Magazine.
"All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord," Hamlin, 43, told Runner's World, saying she received texts with photos of Ludivine from friends who were volunteering at the finish. "My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners."

Didn’t preview show you the width?
That’s great you saw it. :) Amazing men what they can do! Was so impressed. I don’t think they take many days off either. :) Just always on the go doing something. Loved where they were making a canoe and how the main guy they featured made his own skis.
Saw this story on the local news. One of the few times anything worth knowing was on our stupid local news.
Anyway, I am glad you posted this delightful story, so I could see some good news again.
What a great dog he is.
It did show me the width, but I just grabbed the codes from the source and was too lazy to make my own pics. It took me a long time to post as it was. Didn’t know how to reduce width without having to do my own pics, but I’m sure there is a way. You can go to the source to see smaller pics, though.
Thanks...I’ll look at that link.
Thanks and you’re welcome. :)
The original source keeps changing the link. Must be getting a lot of hits.
Thanks for reminding me of the link. I have a bad habit of looking at pics and not reading stories so often, and I didn’t read it when I saw this a couple of days ago. It’s very sweet and endearing about the doggie. :)
Sounds like the pooch spent a good part of the time running off the course smelling out rabbits and other dogs. LOL
lol...just havin’ a gay ole time. :)
Thank You. I am aware of that.
That’s one happy dog.
So Cool Hand Luke was a fraud? Ain’t no way he done run that dog to death.
Great pictures but my Great Dane would finish 1st, 14th, and 35th lapping the field several times.
lol...found the scene. I saw that movie a long time ago, but not sure if I ever saw the whole thing or not. So glad the dog in the story didn’t die!

Thanks. :)
I know how to do some HTML, but didn’t know how to change pic size w/out redoing the pics. HTML is fun to fiddle with.
