GALRAGON [GAL druh guhn]

If you saw the word and didn't know where the accent was you might think it was a slang term for a female dragon, but you'd be wide of the mark, unless you want to stretch a point.
To end the suspense, GALRAGON is what the people of the Shetland Islands used to call a sorceress or witch. The word has nothing to do with dragons in the sense of the legendary fire-breathing variety.
The Shetlanders took the word from Old Norse galdra-kona, a combination of galdra (incantation, crowing, or witchcraft generally) and kuna (woman).
A crowing woman may resemble a "dragon" in the slang sense of an intimidating beady-eyed old female, but the etymology is as stated.

And now she wants the ultimate gravy train.
It was amusing to watch this play out, but our country should not be run by the insane asylum. It’s becoming more of a horror flick than a comedy show.

The local FB world is atwitter with the story of three sisters. The first and oldest, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer just this year. The middle sister is in the process of a diagnosis, unknown how bad it is yet. Both to undergo chemo and double mastectomy soon. The youngest sister has two lumps and has begun her journey. All in one month. Very sad.

with having been gone for almost a week and the snowstorm and getting home and digging out, and the missed days at work this week, I have zero concept of what day of the week it is!
I showed up yesterday for my early morning haircut that was really for today. LOL She got me in and my hair trimmed up yesterday, so this morning I can lounge at the computer. I don’t know how I got that confused about the days.
I’ve done that sort of thing before, good you got it done and out of the way.
I was extremely traumatized, but now that I have an award I can soldier on. Sweet! Thank you.........
Pern gold galdragons do indeed show up earlier than they took off when they time-travel. This allows them to delete the original between and remain as they were while still gaining the ability to cleanse the threads infecting them.
