That sounds like a wildcat round. You have to make them or they are really hard to find.
Surprisingly, .223 Wylde is not a wildcat. It is a design that allows you to shoot either 5.56 or .223, and it’s good for both, even with the (potentially) higher pressures of the 5.56. I have an AR in .223 Wylde and like it a lot. I do not have the exact model he is looking at, but I have found it convenient for cheap 5.56 bulk ammo but also very accurate when I want to push myself to the limit on target shooting with precision .223 ammo.
The bottom line: I’m happy with the .223 Wilde but have no experience with the particular rifle under discussion.
nope ..... 223 Wylde is a chamber that gets the best out of 5.56mm Surplus or Commercial 223 factory ammo in a 1:8 twist barrel.... its a good thang !
