You comment about Apple is incorrect. Apple has always supported their hardware/software mix much better than the gobs in Redmond

So you can install an OS 3 generations behind on a brand bew Apple computer and then Apple will support you?

Wrong. I have (or my dad has) a computer that was built in 2004 that was deemed obsolete by Apple. I was working with it yesterday. It was deemed obsolete by Apple several years ago and all support stopped.

Likewise with the software and Canvas. This has been a long sad story for me on FR. I have gotten a lot of help from fellow Freepers for how to convert old obsolete files — thank you. Still no luck.

In comparison, my XP based computers including my Dell PC from 2002 is still getting updates even though support is discontinued and my XP computers are still functional. The web browser is an issue but I use Google Chrome and Firefox anyway.

XP — Not bad for a 15 year old OS.
