“this issue”??? I am referring to all the issues on that chart and more. I used a couple examples to keep the debate manageable. You think a guy who immediately panders to the ethanol industry to buy Iowa votes is going to be focused on spending?

In black & white.

POTUS race shouldn’t be a childish popularity contest and twitter insulting contest.

Thanks for the chart.

Did you also read “everyone is go ting to be covered” and “the government is going to pay for it” and “we will make a deal with the hospitals”.

I bet his deal with the hospitals is about as flexible as my deal with the IRS.

Trump won't win the election if the polls are correct.

Repeating this doesn't make it true.

"If the polls are correct" is your problem. At this point, in 1980, Carter led Reagan 63% to 33%.

I prefer “get the right things done” Obama has also “gotten things done”.

What is your idea of conservatism?

Limited government? Well, Trump doesn’t want that... he just wants to be the leader of his kind of government.

Lower taxes? Has Trump ever mentioned taxes? Or getting rid of the IRS? Or a new tax plan?

Anti-abortion. Of all the so-called social issues, this is the most important.

The rampant and government-sanctioned abortion has weakened the moral fibre of our society.

I don’t recall Trump saying much if anything about it, except back three years ago when he said he was totally in favor of abortion rights.

So, what really is your idea of a conservative.

I don’t care about his marriages. I care about the country.
I don’t care about non-essential trivialities either. I care about the country. “Purists” have gone by a lot of names and I am beginning to think of some of you purists as American Taliban. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Did you see the tweets that the mature and thoughtful Mr. Trump put out after the National Review thing?

He tweeted some insults to the magazine.

He said nothing whatsoever to refute their claims.

This is a losing battle with this crowd but I feel compelled to fight it.

... because we’re not supposed to evaluate candidates based on their records? We’re only supposed to believe in their “hope and change” promises?

Unless you acknowledge our dual-citizenship treaty with Canada. But that is way less fun. Birther topics keep Trump’s liberal answers as recent as 2015 (not just 15 years ago) off the top of the discussion list.

My idea of conservatism is:

Freedom of speech, not being silenced by political correctness.

2nd Amendment, not having our right to bear arms infringed on.

Pro-life which Trump unequivocally says he is.

Capitalism and limited regulation on business

Freedom of religion, including Merry Christmas,

Mostly my idea of conservatives is getting the left out of government.

Trump fits every one of these definitions.

DUnald Tramp doesn’t meet that clearly defined guideline on far too many points.
.........................................................WHICH points PRECISELY. FAR TOO MANY is an outlandish statement.

He is running against Cruz, OTHERWISE he wouldn’t mention Cruz everyday in his erratic attacks siding with Establishment figures.

They don’t care. About anything. Except their one true love, Donald Trump.

It’s like a gigantic cult.

I would never have believed that this doltish and unlikable man could draw people into his ample bosom.

I still have hope, but if they get their Leader in, it will be disappointment after disappointment. He will be a one-term president. He will do very few of the things he promised.

As soon as Donald, his gorgeous wife(s) and his Hollywood buddies finish dancing at the Inaugural Ball, it’s all gonna go to hell without even a handbasket.

Well at least Ted Cruz will only be 48.

I doubt his tweets are the last you'll hear of it. Remember: "If you hit me, I'll hit back 10 X as hard."

It's what I like about him. He fights back, rather than simply whimpering like we've seen from our leaders for a decade.
