I have that on CD. “The Cowboy in the Continental Suit” always reminds me of my father.
I saw him on “Austin City Limits” once singing, “The stranger there among them had a big orange on his lip, big orange on his lip.”
Despite 50+ years since being recorded, albums like this, along with ones like Johnny Mathis' "Heavenly," Ray Charles' "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music" and others still shine like diamonds for me.

I went to a Johnny Cash concert in Norfolk in 1962 that featured the guy who did the guitar work on El Paso. One of the best I ever heard.

I see from a later comment that Grady Martin’s the name of the guitarist on El Paso. His part of Cash’s show was better than Cash.
As I recall, Johnny Cash was having voice problems or something and either didn’t sing or did it poorly. Afterwards, I went backstage to get an autograph and found myself gawking as June Carter was tearing Johnny a new one. I read years later that this was during the time Johnny was strung out on speed, and that he was wrecked at the concert.
It’s not one of Marty’s “Old West” songs which are genius but here is a song he had a hit with that is covered by the Irish band, Davitt Country. I think their cover is great but that’s just me.
