Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump late Wednesday pinned blame for his scriptural gaffe -saying "2 Corinthians" instead of "Second Corinthians" - on evangelical activist Tony Perkins.
"Tony Perkins wrote that out for me. He actually wrote out the 2, he wrote out the number 2 Corinthians," Trump said on "CNN Tonight with Don Lemon." "I took exactly what Tony said, and I said, 'Well, Tony has to know better than anybody.'" The slip-up drew laughs from the crowd at evangelical Liberty University and led to attacks on the billionaire businessman's faith.
But Trump said he has since heard from "a lot of people" who tell him that he was actually correct.
"It's a very small deal, but a lot of people in different sections of the world say 2, and I've had many, many people say to me," he said.
"My mother, as you know, was from Scotland, and they say 2," he added
You mean like not knowing you were a dual citizen up until about a year and a half ago? Or not reporting 2 bank loans on your FEC filings?
This has to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. Trump made a mistake. We all do. But rather than admitting he didn’t know, instead he has to blame someone else. This is how an insecure child behaves, not an adult, and certainly not a great leader.
Always a dead giveaway when a koolaid case responds to an issue with diversion.
Any logical reason you do that or is it just blind hero worship?
Well, that cinched it for me.
Not only is Trump a bald faced liar, he is also stupid.
Bad combination.
Wow, they’re even tight with their letters.”
Actual LOL on that!!!!!
AND “a lot of people” he hears from are stupid, too.
Trump exceeds even Obama when it comes to being a petulant child. His emotional maturity is on the level of a 14 yr. old Mean Girl.
This is really a stupid, petulant attack on the man. If you can’t do any better than this you should just hand it up. Really, really desperate.
So a deep and abiding faith and being a businessman are mutually exclusive? Who knew?
My business front door has a 10 commandments graphic on it. Guess I'd better do something about that!
If Trump doesn’t want to out his hypocrisy, he shouldn’t try to spout Scripture when he obviously has no knowledge of it.
It’s a small deal...but his handling of the explanations seem like Hillary speak.
Frankly....I’ve NEVER heard anyone say Two Corinthians...!
So true.
BTW, who were these two Corinthians, anyway?
I’ve heard preachers say “Two Corinthians”.
LOL!
Y’all need to grow up and find something serious to talk about. How many times has this already been posted? Vote Trump
Ha! And we know all about Mrs. Bates.
