LONDON -- A prominent Russian dissident was assassinated in London with a deadly dose of radioactive poison because he had claimed that Vladimir Putin was a pedophile, according to an independent British inquiry.
The hit was "probably" carried out on the personal orders of the Russian president.
The allegation -- that Putin had used his position as head of the Russian intelligence service to destroy video evidence of himself having sex with underage boys -- was "the climax" of an increasingly bitter personal feud between Alexander Litvinenko and the Russian president.
Sir Robert Owen, a retired High Court judge, found that this personal animosity combined with Litvinenko's continued criticism of the Kremlin and the FSB, of which he was once a senior member, was the motive behind his brazen murder in a Mayfair hotel via a pot of green tea laced with the radioactive isotope polonium-210 in November 2006.
"The FSB operation to kill Mr. Litvinenko was probably approved by Mr. Patrrushev, then head of the FSB, and also by President Putin," Owen told the Royal Courts of Justice on Thursday.
"There was undoubtedly a personal dimension to the antagonism between Mr. Litvinenko on the one hand and President Putin on the other," he wrote in his report. "Mr. Litvinenko made repeated highly personal attacks on President Putin culminating in the allegation of pedophillia in July 2006."

I read an interesting book about Soviets living in London, titled “Londongrad.” Some were oligarchs, both in and out of favor with Putin. But, there was a long chapter about Litvenenko. The story of the poisoning was very convincing that it was professionally done. Why was less clear—Litvinenko was a loose cannon, and probably unstable. It wasn’t clear how much he really knew that mattered.
This idea of personal animus is one I hadn’t heard.
Nonsense.
There is no way possible Putin would spread radioactive material around Europe for a hit.
That could be interpreted as an act of war.
Putin isn’t about to risk war over one guy.
More than likely the radioactive material was for dirty bombs to be touched off in multiple cities by the muslim terrorist which would have forced the UK to pull all their troops out of engagements in the ME as the cities were evacuated.
There was talk about the same strategy by muslim terrorist for this country and it was referred to as American Hiroshima.
I’m sorry, but the idea that Muslims did that is just ludicrous.
We know exactly when he was poisoned, and it was during a very short period of time when he was meeting with RUSSIAN KGB OFFICERS, who quickly departed London before they could be apprehended.
The polonium also left a trail of radiation behind that could be traced. Not only from Litvinenko after he was poisoned, but there were 2 other trails detected. Those trails matched the movements of the 2 KGB agents exactly, both as they entered and exited London. There were no other radiation trails detected, which means the ONLY people in London exposed to the polonium BEFORE the murder where the 2 KGB agents that were present when Litvinenko was poisoned.
In other words, there is absolutely no possibility that your theory could be correct.
