I remember these same things said about Reagan.
Steve Martin had a stand up joke that he used many times: “Reagan wants to turn this country back to what it used to be: covered in ice.”
One guy had a joke where he said something about how much they spent on the Reagan presidential Library, and how that was a ton of money to pay for a shelf.
They just aren’t really great jokes.
