You need to add up the reciprocal of the numbers: 1/4+1/4+1/4+1/5+1/6+1/8+1/8+1/18=1.42. Anything over 1.0 goes to the bookie.
So then wouldn’t the bookie’s take be higher than 30%?
Not looking good on that idea right now. 19:13 16 Jan 2016
That’s a pretty close approximation. - Kirk.
For the record, 7 min to go 4th quarter, NE 27, KC 13.
This helps me out. Now that the Chiefs are out, I can go back to not caring about the NFL.
1:18 to go. Still NE 27, KC 13. But KC on NE 1 yard line...
Update! TOUCHDOWN KC!!
NE 27, KC 20, 1:13 min left
Onside kick coming...
KC onside kick...
NE recovers.
1:12 min, KC, all 3 timeouts remaining.
KC damn near intercepts Brady! But ball popped out of defenders hands into NE receiver’s!
1:01`min left. 1st and 10 NE...
No timeouts, clock expiring........
It’s OVER.
Yep...many prognosticators are eating their betting slips....
Arizona-Green Bay on now.
Arizona 7.5 pt favorites.
My “sure thing” tip for tomorrow is take Steelers with the 7.5 points vs Denver. Although I’m rooting for Denver to go all the way, I doubt it will be an easy win for Denver vs Pitt.
Championship droughts for the eight teams:
1947-Chicago/St Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals
1969-Kansas City Chiefs (now eliminated by New England)
1995-Carolina Panthers (never have won a championship)
1998-Denver Broncos
2008-Pittsburgh Steelers
2010-Green Bay Packers
2013-Seattle Seahawks
2014-New England Patriots (current defending champions)
Out of this group, an all time historic Super Bowl could have been the Cardinals versus Chiefs, now would be Cardinals versus Broncos.
It just depends how you calculate the percentage. It’s 30% of the total taken in (.42/1.42, but it’s forty two percent of the amount paid out (.42/1).
Wow! Those Cardinals do a lot of "migrating". Never knew they started in Chicago.
Thanks. You seem yo know a lot about bookie percentages. Which crime family are you affiliated with?
:)
They actually played at Comiskey Park until their move to St Louis for the 1960 season (to checkmate the AFL in that market). The 1947 championship game they won against the Eagles was the first NFL championship game to be televised.
>>Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
Revised
Kansas City Chiefs (8,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000-1)
Dude...what? You do realize they are playing the Patriots right?
Got to be honest i just watched the game....bye-bye KC....
Ya, shure. It’s the Bjorn Hjerteloven syndicate. We make our money betting on when the car will fall through the ice on Big Ole Lake.
