Has anyone received a bill for their their new yearly Environment tax?

A few weeks ago we received a letter saying we would soon be getting a bill for the new Obama Environment Tax. It would be coming from an out-of-state company as they do billing well (!). It is to comply with the new environmental regulations. We received our bill for $36, due before the end of the month. Now we live in a small town, but I'm thinking that every home or apartment, in this vast country, will be required to pay this new environmental tax. Anybody else receive their bill yet? And WHERE WILL THIS MONEY BE GOING???

Not a scam. Came from the town ‘to help cover the costs of administering the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit (MS4) required by the Federal Government’. Directed at the town from the EPA, Dept of Clean Water, etc.

Sounds like something Bill Nye might send out because he is washed up as a children's show host.
Might be someone trying to raise money for a campaign to re-elect Sheldon “El Jefe Espantosa” Whitehouse as dictator on the Anti-Free Speech platform.
Maybe Man-Bear-Pig trying to get money to build another 1.5 billion square foot house or a new coal fueled jet to take him around to tell people not to drive their cars o work.

This type of fee usually shows up on your property tax statement...not a stand alone bill.

Call your local utility / water company and confirm with them.
Assessments like that are usually tacked onto your water bill when they are real.

Not a scam. I just went on our town’s website where they state that the fee is $3/month to help pay for the extra environmental requirements.
