Trump has created a lot of excitement and has successfully branded himself as the guy who will change everything.

I seem to remember someone else doing the same thing eight years ago.

Note that the people here screaming about the NY values thing all need butthurt forms. Because I see them regularly slam NY every time some lib idiocy happens there.

But because it does not serve their Trump desires, they turn on a dime. Two faced liberalism at it’s finest.

Exactly. Our side now wants its own Hope and Change candidate. It’s 2008 all over again, and I never expected to see it from our people.

Get real! Are we going to spend the next four years arguing about a social issues, or are we going to do something immediately about the horrendous state this country is in? When the boat is sinking, you don’t go stargazing, you grab a bucket and BAIL!

re:...describing Cruz as sounding like a radio preacher...

Someone preacher told me they thought Trump sounded like P.T. Barnum, or maybe the Wizard of Oz.

Come to think of it, Trump does have that quality to him. I hadn’t been able to put my finger on what it was that left me a bit unsettled about him. Now I know.

It was probably so self-evident at the time that there was no reason to define it.

I'm glad that you had the honesty to add the word 'probably'. The fact is that even at the time of the founding, there was a range of opinion about the precise definition of natural born citizen, specifically about the primacy of Jus sanguinis or jus soli, or if a combination, how they would be balanced.

What there wasn't disagreement about was that "natural born" citizenship was that kind of citizenship that was a natural consequence of the circumstances of birth. All agreed on that. But that sort of definition was somewhat subjective.

And that uncertainty lingers until today. But there is a general consensus that anyone who acquires his citizenship at birth as natural born as opposed to naturalized.

Thank you.

I don’t dispute that Cruz is a citizen. Just not sure about Natural Born.

My niece and nephew were born in Holland..my sister is an American citizen and they have a Dutch father. They had dual citizenship until a certain age. I will ask them more about this later. I believe they had to make a choice but not sure.

Christian leader

A leader who is Christian is fine and most preferable, but a Praetorian-like Sadducee is not preferable, nor fine.

Remember that email I sent you from the night of the election?

Like I said then. Did I nail it or what?

And Trump gladly accepted the label. He owns "New York values" now.

On top of that, when Trump tried to make the issue about 9-11 Cruz just smiled at him and applauded. Cruz is very sharp he didn't let himself get manipulated into being against how NY responded to a muslim attack. His real point was clear when he responded to Bartiromo and that's the point that is going to give people pause.

I am REAL. Social issues are very expensive to fund. It really is not nearly as complicated as you seem to think. Presently our military is funding all manner of mental/sexual disorders... Welfare is the new norm. And there is no, not one reason for tax payers to pay for birth control, also known as abortions. We as a nation will never rebuild if we keep sticking a national finger in the eye of the Creator. Bank on that.

I have made my selection based on who has the skills to turn this country around economically, militarily, and guard her Sovereignty. I see only one. Trump.
Much of Trump’s life has been spent quietly helping others which I consider the reflection of his heart. He’s a good man. That is enough for me.

I'm sorry, but I don't see how you can spin Cruz silently applauding Trump's response to his own attack as anything positive.

Other than that moment, I thought Cruz had won the debate narrowly. But when all the focus is on this, as well as the NBC issue... today is not a rebound day for Cruz.

And now, Ted's Iowa co-chair is on the TV saying that Trump won the exchange and that Cruz made a mistake... it's an acknowledgement of a mistake and I hope Ted doesn't say another word about it.

"These raging Trumpkin posts are really quite illuminating. Social conservatism must take a back seat/ celebrity candidate FTW uber alles, et al...There’s some real dark liberal psychosis being displayed here on FR."

Very much so.

Can you imagine what lurkers are thinking? I guess I should thank the Trumpsters because God knows how many people they're turning off.
