Ted Cruz may win the battle (Iowa) by focusing on social issues but he will lose the war. He will completely disqualify himself among Trump's base who are largely moderates on social issues. He will also lose a whole slew of northeastern and rust belt primaries down the road.

Trump will not be losing anything...that debate ‘performance’ from those ‘governors and politicians’ last night was all Trump’s idea....every one of them...

KEEP AMERICA IN THE LAWS THAT WERE SET UP WHEN AMERICA WAS FOUNDED!!!

An angry woman is on Rush now, describing Cruz as sounding like a radio preacher her mother used to listen to who would urge his listeners to scrounge up two dollars for a prayer cloth.

Come to think of it, Cruz does have that quality to him. I hadn’t been able to put my finger on what it was that left me a bit unsettled about him.

I don't know what Cruz gains from including New York in this, and (as a New Yorker myself) I wish he wouldn't.

Social issues are important but I think more people think they are not as important as national security (terrorism) and the economy.

Good luck trying to win the general election without pro-life, pro-family, pro Christian values voters.

But he will gain Christians, who agree with the Bible’s teaching: “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul?”
It is troubling that Trump told us that he has never asked God for forgiveness, which disqualifies him as a Christian, because Jesus requires the repentance of every sinner.

The head line is a bit misleading. The article is more about what Cruz might attack with, if he needs to counterattack. It is a Cruz staffer saying this.

“He’s pro-choice. He’s pro- gay marriage. He’s against traditional values.”

Trump’s own words support that.

A lot of people thought his retort about his birth was very clever but I don’t think so...why didn’t he state the law instead of some ridiculous straw man argument starting of with “some say....”. I remember that’s what Katie Couric used to do...I hated it then and I hate it now.

If Cruz is the constitutional genius why didn’t he recite the constitution for his answer?

If he does this, he clearly didn’t learn his lesson from last night.

Who needs a moderate anything? Moderates brought you Mitt Romney....loss. John McCain....loss. Moderates are liberals who don’t have the balls to call themselves that.

IMHO until some other candidate adopts Trump’s positions on immigration, Muslim refugees and global trade treaties, no one is taking him out in this race.

We have more important things to worry about right now than gay marriage including knocking out ISIS, fixing illegal immigration, and bringing back jobs to the country.

And in fact Teddy agrees with me. He said so himself when he was begging gay republicans for money in Manhattan.
