As the Republican candidates prepare for their next debate Thursday night in North Charleston, South Carolina, Donald Trump will once again be center stage -- as a result of the Fox Business Network's calculations of who has done best in various trial heat polls nationally and in key states.
Despite his poll standing, Trump's image among Republicans is certainly not the most positive of the major candidates, and new calculations show that Trump has by far the worst image of any major Republican candidate among Democrats and independents.
These results are based on Gallup Daily tracking data collected between Dec. 1, 2015, and Jan. 11, 2016. This analysis uses the "first question" party identification groupings, based on Americans' initial answers when asked if they identify as Republicans, independents or Democrats. (For most of our Gallup analyses, we use the "leaned" party groups that include independents who, in response to a second question, say they lean toward one party or the other.)
During the Dec. 1-Jan. 11 time period, Trump's overall image was 33% favorable and 58% unfavorable, for a net favorable rating of -25. Among "pure" Republicans, Trump's net favorable rating was +27 -- sixth out of the nine GOP candidates we are tracking. But the new analysis shows how deeply negative Trump's image is among Americans who don't identify as Republicans, with a net favorable rating of -70 among Democrats and -27 among independents, by far the most negative of any candidate.

Trump!
maybe among Independents? oh wait... they have a less than spectacular opinion of D.T
what a conundrum??
Well, this just makes me support Trump more than ever.
Wonder what the word is on Hillary’s negatives among Republicans?
Looked at it another way Trump is the one that Democrats fear most. Kind of makes all anti-trumpers look silly for saying he’s a democrat.
So only 30% of Dems and 73% of Indies might vote for him.
What ‘awful’ news...
That bit of information is great news but I RARELY believe in what the “polls” say. They are the very, very least reliable source of true information.
Sure it is, that’s why he’s got big leads in almost every state, and is gaining on Hillary (actually beating her in one poll.)
More BS, trying to manipulate voters.
GO TRUMP!
This just in, if you support Trump, you support Stalin.
‘Cuz Tzfat azz says so.
Trumps image is so negative no one comes to his events or talks—No one wants to know what he says—notice people never cheer at his events. All those people are paid—bussed in to fill one corner of the arean. Each person gets $400 dollars for showing up—In the Iowa Causaus only 2% will go for Trump—90% will go for a true conservative icon Ted Cruz!!!! Watch as Trump explodes and drops out before New Hampshire! (Sic)
So you prefer to support Republicans who enjoy majority support from Democrats? How’d that work out for you in 2008 and 2012?
Contrast in politics is a good thing. I don’t care how much Democrats dislike a particular GOP candidate.
More recent numbers didn't fit the narrative for the Mr. Newport?
Cruz is supported by democrats? You’ve lost it.
Logic is tough for Trumpdroolers, I get it.
I’m a Cruz supporter but this article is crap.
More BS, trying to manipulate voters.
Exactly.
