The 49ers on Thursday hired Chip Kelly to become the organization’s seventh head coach of the past 15 years.

CEO Jed York made the announcement on Twitter:

"After a thorough search, Trent & I are thrilled to announce Chip Kelly as the new #HeadCoach of the @49ers"

They had Adam Gase last year but Jed shoved Tomsula down his throat as DC, so Gase said screw you.

Then he blacklisted the 49ers this year. Smart man.

A once great organization that was a play away from winning the super bowl 4 years ago, is now circling the toilet.

Jed York is one of the 4 worst owners in the NFL and he is laughing all the way to the bank. He has his new cash cow with Levis and doesn’t give a spit about winning, just putting butts in the seats.

I will still be a 49ers fan, but I see dark days ahead.

Trent Baalke will draft system players for Chip Kelly for the next 3 years. Chip’s system will fail and he will be fired 3 years from now. The roster will be stocked with players designed for Chip’s failed system, Baalke will be fired, and a new GM will spend 3-4 years drafting players that a real head coach can use to win playoff games.

At least Tomsula only set the team back 1 year. This catastrophe will set the team back 6-7 years — the years Chip is given to fail plus the years it takes to rebuild the roster from scratch.

I never expected that Jed York was as bad an owner as Haslam and Snyder. And ownership sets the tone for everythings. A bad owner has never won a super bowl.

Get ready for 3 seasons of 9-7 to 7-9 records missing the playoffs.

I have my doubts that they actually intended to hire Gase. How expensive would he be? The reason they got rid of Harbaugh is he was too expensive.

Sorry, about your Chiefs, but if they want to go further in the future they need to get an NFL-caliber QB. Reid is a genius to do this well with Smith, but there are limits. In order to make him serviceable, he has hampered his offence. There was no way they were going to win with Smith throwing 50. He should have had two interceptions, too. They need to get Nick Foles or someone else next year.
