Which Trump Will He Be When He Gets To Washington?
Right Scoop ^ | 1/13/2016 | Right Scoop

Over at Conservative Review today they have an in-depth piece looking at Trump's questionable political history, from his positions on everything from immigration to Syria to even support for Mitch McConnell.

Here's an example:

On September 8, 2015, Trump said the following about the Syrian refugees: "I hate the concept of it, but on a humanitarian basis of what's happening, you have to." Just a day later he partially reversed course:

I think we should help, but I think we should be very careful because frankly, we have very big problems. We're not gonna have a country if we don't start getting smart.

Then he went on to promote a ban on Muslim immigration. This proposal set off an imbroglio within the political world that completely washed away the fact that Trump's first thoughts were to follow the groupthink.

Conservatives need to know if Donald Trump is really the man who will put Americans first and demolish the "dummies" in Washington or if his lack of a coherent philosophy will lead him to reflexively parrot the very politically correct talking points he so vehemently assails and yet has so often adopted. Is Trump who we think he is on immigration or is he pragmatically trying to tap into a frustration to win the primary with a plan to revert to his original talking points after winning?

Indeed we covered that both here and here, where Trump literally switched positions one day apart. I think that's what we call pandering.

And this is just one example.

Considering how Trump has switched positions during this very campaign on important issues (like Syria or Cruz eligibility, etc), which version of Trump will he be when he gets to Washington and decides he wants to get stuff done? Who or what will he support in the name of 'doing business' to get legislation through? Will he be as tough as he is now or will he turn into much more of a compromiser in the name of ‘doing business’?

I really think that's an open question, especially based on his past 'business' relationships.

That is an excellent record at the Supreme Court. It is not like he was allowed to pick and choose which case he took, as he might have in private practice.

He was a partner in the largest and one of the most prestigious law firms in the world for 7 years before becoming Solicitor General of Texas. You don't get a partnership like that unless you have a stellar record.

Given Name DONALD

GENDER: Masculine

USAGE: Scottish, English

PRONOUNCED: DAHN-əld (English)

Meaning & History From the Gaelic name Domhnall which means "ruler of the world", composed of the old Celtic elements dumno "world" and val "rule". This was the name of two 9th-century kings of the Scots and Picts. It has traditionally been very popular in Scotland, and during the 20th century it became common in the rest of the English-speaking world. This is the name of one of Walt Disney's most popular cartoon characters, Donald Duck....

Deal with it!

We won’t get an amnesty. We will get a controlled immigration the way it is supposed to be.

Trump didn't even object when Cruz called Trump out on his amnesty.

Ted Cruz is no conservative. A conservative would want to PROTECT America’s Sovereignty. Ted Cruz has given away our Sovereignty in every recent vote and tried to lie about it.

Trump is a progressive; he IS the establishment and his history proves it for anyone who cares to get the stars out of his eyes and go look. His attacks from the left are characteristic of his core liberalism.

Your conspiracy theories have no basis in reality.

So Trump is the good billionaire and all other billionaires including Cruz's billionaire donors are bad. That's the world according to many Trump supporters. Is that what you believe?

Trump’s billionaire is talking, answering questions, making commitments.... Cruz’s billionaires...aren’t.

Cruz is responsible for his own actions.

And I'll put your answer my question as a yes.

What are you defining as “amnesty?”

I’m perfectly satisfied with letting properly vetted illegals come back with a permanent inability to vote.

You a grudge holding racist or something?

Cruz is responsible for his own actions.

So is every other Congress Critter.

You obviously live in fantasy land where billionaires finance campaigns for "principle."

He's going to show up ready to fix stuff. That's all you should care about.

Obama came along with the exact same desire... and fools like you apparently think we shouldn't ask WHAT he wants to change, HOW he wants to change it, and HOW we can rely on the promises that he makes. Actual adults care about such things. Anyone who has lived through the last few dozen GOP winners who have openly stabbed conservatives in the back would know that it takes far more than promises of being the next limited-government hero. It takes actually walking the walk as well. Only one candidate has done so to any significant degree. THAT is all YOU should care about.

Wow. I'm against amnesty and because of it, I get asked if I'm "a grudge holding racist or something".

Is that your understanding of why people are against amnesty?

It may be good enough for you, but it is definitely not good enough for me. I think he is grossly over rated and not as smart as people seem to think he is. It is beyond belief that a man who knows he was born in Canada and lived there until he was four would not know he is a Canadian citizen for over forty years! ESPECIALLY a lawyer who even had his Canadian birth certificate. What else is he hiding.

You're a Free Traitor™ Establishment type that isn't for changing any of the unfair and stupid trade practices that have ruined the economy over the last 30 years. I know your type. You could care less about immigration either legal or illegal. You probably think China is more free than the USA.

Trump may not be instinctively conservative, but he is instinctively Pro American.

So again, you think Trump is the principled billionaire and all the other ones are unprincipled.

Cruz's donors are unprincipled, Cruz is unprincipled, but Trump, he's principled.

And again, your answer to my original question to you, is an unabashed yes.

Haven’t you ever ignored stupidity? I know I have. Cruz of course is really pro amnesty and very very weak on the wall. He prefers to kick the ball down the road like all the other politicians. “We will deal with that (the wall) after we control the border.” Hahahahah where have I heard that before????????????????????????????
