Should Rep Base Pick SOTU Responder?

I am totally sick of this. It is very clear, the Republican establishment does not like the Republican base. Nikki Haley Confirms today she specifically targeted Donald Trump In SOTU Response and Jeb Bush and GOP “Leaders” approved – attacking the Republican front runner, unheard of outrage coming from these elitists who see the Republican base as the enemy and Nikki Haley, the South Carolina governor was HAND-PICKED by House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the Jeb Bush campaign to give the Republican response to President Obama’s State of the Union Address (SOTU) and it was clear all this was amounted to an attack on the base, a bunch of Hillary Clinton talking points attacking Trump with twisted and false narratives not far removed from “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” misrepresenting and exaggerating and totally off queue from the issues the Republican base is concerned over as well as America. Today, Americans who are victims of Iranian terrorism are fighting for their compensation due (and won in court) to them from the freed Iranian assets (with Obama lifting sanctions so the Iran can have plenty of money to commit MORE terrorist attacks on Americans), the Supreme Court seems like it is hedging giving these victims their compensation from Iran due to “sensitive negotiations with Iran” – why didn’t Nikki Haley talk about that along with all the other issues such as our open borders which the Republican establishment supports and is clearly the reason for this outrageous assault on Trump.

This “response was simply dictated by Ryan, McConnell and Bush, there is no question about it. And it is clear as day, they would rather elect Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump, and will do anything to assure that because it is all about amnesty, open borders and cheap labor and to hell with the middle class and the long term destruction to America and our interests. They want the GOVERNMENT to have the ability to define “mental illness” via government controlled “healthcare” so that they, the establishment, can then declare anyone of the base as mentally disturbed and thus lose their constitutional protections and rights and be attacked by the elite which clearly Haley is a toady of. They want to continue the spigot of illegals non-stop and on and on and on and on. Another 300 plus down day on the market, many are losing HUGE amounts and Ryan FULLY FUNDS the Obama agenda because amnesty is more important to them.

I have had enough of this. The person who gives the RESPONSE to the SOTU should NEVER be hand picked again. I demand that the Republican base VOTES for who will give the response, no more of this crony crap.

We could have gotten a better response from a random name in the phone book.

That was humiliating and I think Haley is done forever. I know I will send money to whomever is runing against her next chance I get.

She is worse than Boehner/Ryan.

Traitor is the only word that fits.

My suggestion-never watch SOTU or response again. I quit watching around the second year of the W administration.

The GOPe (eGOP?) have been tone-deaf, or bribed to be so, for decades.

I curious as why they think this attempt to denigrate Trump would do anything other than make Trump extremely more attractive than any "establishment" candidate they "approve of"?

I stopped during the Bush41 admin. I almost stopped during Reagan, thanks to the detestable Tip O’Neill in the background.

Trump just needs to clean house at the RNC. It is a hostile takeover, and the losing side is working hard to prevent it.

I haven’t watch since the days of Bubba.

Why do we even need a response? Do you honestly think for one minute that is changes the mind of one idiot watching network tv?

I wish more congressmen followed the lead of Cruz and Steve King and stop attending.

Why go through the rigamarole? Its better and frankly easier to simply support a two pronged attack on Nikki. Primary her, but also run an independent conservative against her. If she wins the primary, put the efforts behind the independent. You might hand the general to the rat, but who really cares? Its not like there would be a whole lot of difference.

Treachery should come at a high price.
