But as is the case with so many other issues where he was siding with the far-left until running for president, immigration is no different. His first intuition in September, when the refugee crisis flared up, was to say that we had a humanitarian obligation to bring in Syrian refugees. Then when he discovered that conservatives were so ardently opposed to it, he immediately did a 180 and categorically opposed it in his typical attention-grabbing fashion. At that point there was no turning around, and because the media was attacking his new position from the Left, everyone forgot (or never noticed) his first intuition.
Now we know who the one person on Free Republic is who craps on Reagan to prop up Trump.
Ask for 100, settle for 90. That’s how you deal. But in this case I would prefer to see him not settle for less because our security is at stake. Governor Abbott backed down on this too.

1. PROVEN liars, who have proven they are liars time after time, or 2. Someone who has not been proven yet to be a liar.
In 2012 the Repubs said, oh, if you give us the Senate, we will:
*Repeal Obamacare
*Secure the border
*Deport illegals
*Reduce spending
*Reduce deficit
etc etc.
They-—including Cruz-—did none of those things. They LIED.
Did some “try”, like Cruz? Yes, I’m sure. But in the REAL world, in business, you get the job done or you don’t.
I worked in corporations for years. If the Senior Vice President of Widgets didn’t get the widgets produced, didn’t get his “nut”, or goal or quota, he was gone. The economy was bad? Winter was bad? The Widget biz was off? Sorry. He still was gone, AND his management team. Gone.
When a football team fires its head coach for losing, the assistant coaches go too in almost every case, rarely are one or two kept. Unfair? Yes. But we hired you to WIN. You didn’t.
I was assigned a project. It didn’t work out because I couldn’t schmooze or motivate or threaten someone into completing a key task in the project. When my review came, my boss said I FAILED. I said, but so-and-so wouldn’t do what was necessary for me to succeed! My boss said, well, maybe somebody else COULD have got that person to do it. And he was exactly right.
So-—you can believe known, proven, world-class, in-your-face liars like Reince Preibus, McConnell, Ryan, and all of them, OR you can give the guy a try who has a great game and hasn’t yet had a chance to betray you or lie to you.
Which is it? Proven liar who we KNOW will not do what he says, or very possibly a man who will do what he says he’ll do.
The entire GOP congressional delegation failed. I say kick them all out.
Ahhh...but your boy has betrayed the most important trust there is: he cheated on the mother of his children. And he thought it was so awesome, he then did it again! A man who betrays THAT trust is beyond despicable.
And additionally, Cruz is but one of a hundred. And he was the only one who DID what he SAID he would. He did everything in his 1/100th power to stop those things that you cited. You can fault him, erroneously, for failing but you cannot say he lied. He was the only one who followed through on his campaign promises. And to now cite that as a reason to not vote for him is exactly why conservatives find themselves in the state we do. Circular firing squad much?
Aw, hell! I was hoping he’d make the ban retroactive, but apparently it is radioactive. Trump might have been our final hope to reverse the tide.
