When Hurricane Sandy hit the NYC metro area, talking heads described how you had to view your vehicles as lifeboats - get your bug-out gear and leave. It was impractical to remain in some areas without power or gasoline as the temperatures dropped in the following weeks. The idea of remaining in a city, where too many people are fighting over too few resources, simply isn’t practical; after Katrina, people started trickling out into the streets as their supplies ran out.

We were fine without power for a few days, because the temperature was OK and we had supplies. The most useless thing was the radio; it just told us how crappy it was elsewhere...

“I am so cityscrewed.”

I’m going to save your butt one more time:

Go to Amazon and buy these items:

Cobra Products PST154 4-Way Sillcock Key
With this key, you can get water from the back or side of any large building you pass. Go to the back or side of the building and you will find a water connection. One of the four options on this key will open that connection and water will flow.

http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-Products-PST154-4-Way-Sillcock/dp/B0002YVMEM/ref=pd_sim_60_3?ie=UTF8&dpID=412Rx9kQZfL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1EWH2R2206BC6HN3RNGA

Buy Coghlan’s Expandable Water Carrier. This is a two gallon carrier that is flat until you expand it. Put as much water as you want in this carrier.

http://www.amazon.com/Coghlans-9223-Expandable-Water-Carrier/dp/B000EGM1UM/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1452658478&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=expandable+water+container

Buy: St. Dalfour Gourmet On the Go, Ready to Eat— Variety 6 Pack (2-Wild Pink Salmon, 2-Tuna & Pasta, 2-Three Bean
This is delicious food ready to eat - 6 meals (spoon included).

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N8C0FNY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1D70WWXB7EG23&coliid=I1QCBBCYV6GYMG

NOW, put that in your car or in a backpack. You will have clean water, a container for the water, and six meals to get you back home.

Normally, I charge $100 to teach someone to save themselves, but for you, I’ll put it on your bill and you can pay it out $1 a month. :o)
