What seems logical to me is to live modestly with a car that’s not worth stealing. Have the trunk packed with crackers, water, a travel bag, and be ready to grab your bag of prescriptions and the dog and just take off when the time comes.
And for some of us that is not a matter of choice!
I think that to know the people in your neighborhood and have some food set aside is not a bad thing. I do not think that the coming bad times will be uniformly bad in all areas.
