Same thing happened to me a few months back. Don’t remember how I fixed it, but I do remember the answer had to do with what is called the “Black Screen of Death”. Google it. It is generally fixable and not as fatal as the infamous “Blue Screen of Death”. Hope this helps.
I had it on my toshiba a while back. had to read a boat load before I found one that worked.
#1 to save you time, only my cursor was showing. If you don’t have that I would say it was mechanical as opposed to what I had to do...I am a bookmark hoarder so if your cursor is working I’ll give you my links.
I think mine happened after an update.
