Try going into your Chrome Settings>Advanced, and unchecking the box that says 'Allow Chrome to run applications even if the browser is closed'. It'll ramp back your processor/RAM utilization, hence longer battery life.

That being said, Chrome sucks on many other levels.

Using Firefox on Win7 64 bit, the text “paste” function ceases to work. I have to close and reopen the browser, then I can paste into a dialog box. The problem has spanned several versions.
