We are a nation of laws, not men. Greatness is not in how big a bully a man is, but rather in how wise a man is. A man can be smart and tough without being wise. Without wisdom, he will never be great. He may get a lot done, but he will never be great. There are many aspects to wisdom, but one sure sign it is missing is a lack of humility and self reflection.
Therefore I do not see any path for Trump to become a great President.
That’s pretty well said and true.
Yeah, it would have been wise for Cruz to take a few more years to establish himself before going for POTUS.
Had enough of half term Senators, especially if they worked for Bush.
The only person that Trumps cares whether or not he is considered a great president is Trump’s one moneyman, himself.

Thanks for your insight.
Trump is the candidate the GOP has been praying for for over 20 years.
Strong, tough, unafraid of the media or the Liberal establishment. Fighting back HARD against political correctness and charges of racism and sexism.....and turning the tables on the accusers!
Other candidates would have been destroyed by now. George Allen in Virginia was destroyed because he said "Ma Ca Ca" once while campaigning. He rolled over, apologized, tried to explain what the word meant, he was only kidding....etc etc etc. Lose Lose LOSE!
Trump doesn't do that weak sissy crap.
Trump is saying during his speeches that "I'll bomb the shit out of them!" My God, who would have thought we'd have a Republican candidate talking like that and not only getting away with it, but becoming MORE popular because of it?
He's a successful and strong leader that is wildly popular and is bringing back the old "Reagan Democrats," blacks, women, and moderates.
He's filling entire stadiums every week in Democrat states.
And it's STILL not good enough.
I think a lot of Conservatives will only be happy if Gary Bauer ran for President again. Sure, he's 1000% Conservative and 0% leadership ability. Completely unattractive as a candidate. Will let the media and Liberals completely steamroll him.
But he's a Bible thumpin' Conservative through and through, and that by golly is what we need! Yeah right.
Trump's a winner. The thing is, he's not doing anything magical or exotic or unusual. His beliefs and the things he says are what American men used to say openly all the time. The things Trump says I can imagine my dad saying.
That's what people like about Trump. He's a real American guy that doesn't take crap from weirdos. People can relate to him.
People can't relate to weird churchy sissies like Gary Bauer or Mike Huckabee.
People can't relate to cerebral debate squad nerds like Ted Cruz. I like Cruz, but he's not a real fighter like Trump. Trump would never say, "I challenge you to a debate!" Trump would say, "You're a weirdo, screw you!"
Gary Bauer, Pat Robertson, or Billy Graham aren't what the GOP or the country needs. Donald Trump is.
“...missing a lack of humility and self reflection.”
We don’t need humility in our President. Any prior presidents whom we perceive as having had humility probably didn’t, really. (Only a massive ego would take a person that far.) Feigned humility is just that — feigned. We need a bold, audacious, kick-ass alpha male to take the reins. (And be great.)
I’d say that Trump has extreme self reflection. Making decisions to leave the Dem party, becoming pro-life, etc., most likely were made as a result of general reflection and self reflection.
