CLEAR LAKE, Iowa - Donald Trump, the billionaire who until now hasn't had to spend much of his own money to run for president, has made the influence of money in politics a theme of his campaign. He has suggested his Republican rivals are "puppets" for seeking the support of GOP donors like the Koch brothers. And he has defended his own contributions to both Republican and Democratic politicians as the cost of doing business in a world in which officeholders can be bought and paid for.
Here in Iowa Saturday, Trump made his most blunt condemnation yet of what he says is the corrupting influence of money in politics. As a businessman, Trump explained, "I've got to give to them, because when I want something, I get it. When I call, they kiss my ass." And that includes, he said, the Republicans who are running against Trump in the GOP presidential race.
"These politicians, they're so bad," Trump told a full house at the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake:
You know, it's interesting. I was looking at the ones I'm running against. I've contributed to most of them - can you believe it? I've contributed to most of them. And one of them said, No, I don't think you've contributed to me. They found out I did. I contribute to everybody. I've given to Democrats. I've given to Hillary. I've given to everybody, because that was my job. I've got to give to them. because when I want something I get it. When I call, they kiss my ass. It's true. They kiss my ass. It's true.
Excellent analogy.
That’s just the way you gotta play to succeed in business in the U.S.: buy the favor of the government mob.
I’m quite sure Trump will militate against this syndicate like Elliot.....cuz he knows what good will happen when all that pelf stays in the pockets of people who build things, and not in the fists of the soft thugs in the legislatures and executive offices.
It’s not that all elected and appointed are bums; just that, in the same way a private business person must buy influence, they are playing the ‘system’ as they must.
Trump is in a position to finally bust the thing, and liberate capital, which is what we need. Freedom and prosperity naturally follow. Stickin’ to my story.
Trump is not a man for every season, but it is his time now. Ghost of Andy Jackson.
The buyer is the worse of two. Morally speaking, the buyer has the clearest choice to do the right thing and chooses not to.
In other words, he understands exactly the political corruption, the lying, the cowardice, and the game-playing that has been going on for years; he is fed up and disgusted by it and has decided the people need to know the truth, it is time for it to stop, and he is going to put a stop to it. It may not be possible for Trump or anyone to save our republic, but I think he has the best chance of doing so — if accompanied by a spiritual renewal of the people. I think Donald Trump is a very brave man; he is fighting very powerful people.
Using your own analogy, we're either going to have a john or a prostitute running the country in 2017.....
It is the ultimate choice of the one who is being tempted to take it....or not.
That’s a depressing, but true, statement.
No wonder I’ve become so cynical.
Better than being the all those DC puppets who have no compunctions.

This is a big F’ng deal.
Trump wouldn’t stop doing it he would just use taxpayers money to do it.
It’s called PORK.
Just who do you think Trump would be loyal to other than his one moneyman, himself?
It's nothing to brag about.
This is a lot like his “if I wanted a casino in Florida, I would have a casino in Florida” BS from the first debate. He wanted a casino in Florida, he raised money for Jeb to try to get it...and he didn’t get it.
Yeah, the open borders crowd are nice to cuddle up to.
And you donated to them anyway.

Wow. River in Egypt.
America is waking up! Go Trump...born in the USA of 2 US citizens, AND NOT IN THE POCKETS OF ANY RICH DONORS!
