I’m gonna pass your comment on to Savannah Guthrie, the alleged journalist.

You could have an interesting conversation about “actual” and “alleged”.

(since you brought up Sarah Palin, bring a book and your lunch, it will take awhile for you to hear something worth responding to)

Stentor, did you communicate this guilty / not guilty verdict with Lazamataz by any chance?

Nope but there's a Sally Field, Flying Nun thing going on in that photo. She even brought a turkey home to the convent.

Fish wildlife and parks also seem to be hiring those that wouldn’t outshine barry the brave.

Then again, photo opps of Moose in the garden always seemed to show her wearing welding gloves.

"Vail held a single, nonresident bear tag, according to a charging document. On a guided hunt last May, two bears – a male and a female – came into view. Investigators said she shot the male and attempted to kill it with a second shot, but instead killed the second bear. Both bears died.

The field guide, Joseph Andrew Miller, contacted master guide Michael Wade Renfro, and a collective decision was made to fly out another tag that Miller attached to the bear, a charging document in Vail’s case states. Vail told an investigating wildlife trooper she signed the tag record May 27 but backdated it at Renfro’s request, the document says.

Yeah that's an evil criminal with criminal intent deserving prosecution ...

I think her guides are at fault. She should not have signed and back dated the tag. They should have just called the game warden and I am sure it would have been fine. You must sign and date the tag at the time you harvest the animal. No back dating.

No it’s not just you.

Stupid, stupid, stupid and arrogant it is.

Her guilt or innocence may now be adjudicated...

‘’Just like those who aren’t smart enough to pay for their own health insurance, but are smart enough to vote...’’

There are a lot of good, conservative people who have been hammered by skyrocking health insurance costs and a piss poor economy that fall into your ‘’ aren’t smart enough to pay for their own health insurance’’ allegation.

Well, it was pretty much an accident, and the fine represents that. They only fined her $750 and a NR tag costs $500.

And she is so not guilty, I am going back to Ak in the fall, and although she can’t hunt, I would allow her to accompany us as camp cook.

The only thing she did wrong was to cooperate with the guide service in back dating a tag. She should not have done that, but the guide service probably does this all the time and having a celebrity on the hunt with the politically incorrect TV show made this onto a news story.

The guide service, along with all guide services and hunters, should not make a practice of breaking the law, but I understand the temptation.

I think it was an article or column in F&S where I saw this type of incident addressed. One of the problems of NOT breaking the law when a hunter accidentally shoots the wrong animal is that state game officials are MERCILESS when it comes to the fines, even when the hunter is doing the right thing.

Well, the husband of WI’s Lt. Governor was charged and fined last week for killing 2 wild turkeys with one shot. I thought he deserved a medal.
