18 Cologne attack suspects ID'd as asylum-seekers; police chief fired

Berlin (CNN)German authorities have identified 31 people, including 18 asylum-seekers, as suspects in mob sex attacks and muggings in Cologne on New Year's Eve -- one of several such incidents in Europe.
In Cologne, where most of the attacks took place, a police spokesman confirmed Chief Wolfgang Albers was fired Friday. Albers' dismissal comes amid criticism of his department's handling of the violence.
One victim of the Cologne violence told CNN there were too few police on the streets to prevent attacks.
"We ran to the police. But we saw the police were so understaffed," the victim said. "They couldn't take care of us and we as women suffered the price."
Spiegel Online reported that groups of men prevented officers from reaching those crying out for help.

Big mistake. They should not be handing out cash. Even if they used credit cards like the EBT, that would be better. Cash will be used for drugs, cigarettes, and booze. Idiots.

EBT cards have a lot of cash on them..
they can be used in liquor stores...
there are no limits on what the cash can be used for...
I was referring to EBT’s used for food. Food stamps (SNAP) placed on the EBT card can only be used for food...no liquor, no toiletries. In the US, some people also get cash assistance placed on EBT’s (for children), and, yes, that could be used for anything.
Regardless, I was referring to some sort of benefit card that could only be used for food items. Giving these refugees/invaders choices on how to spend other people’s money is ridiculous. THey should never be given cash. Germany needs to rethink how they are going to administer benefits.
