The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ruled out quarterback Andy Dalton for the teamâs playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday.
Dalton sustained a fractured right thumb during the Bengalsâ Week 14 loss to the Steelers. Dalton had the cast removed from his hand earlier this week.

Oh. Such is the pity.
Not a chance, Steelers lose by 10
Considering his inconsistent play, Roethlisberger can use all the help he can get!
I thought he was safe! The umpire is blind!
Go AJ! RTR
Meanwhile, the forecast for 1pm in Minneapolis on Sunday is zero degrees and a windchill of -12.

Steelers in a romp.
He can’t grip the ball, but Alabama’s McCarron is the backup and he’s been doing exceptionally well so far. If the truth be told, McCarron has been under the big lights and huge crowds and national audiences as much or more than Dalton.
The only real question in my mind is if a McCarron victory will jeopardize Dalton’s job next year.
Big Ben Roethlisberger is hard to beat. One of the best QBs of our era, and he has some top notch receivers, although I think his tight ends are just so so.
Nope, Pacman is back, so the defense will be more solid than the 10 point loss.
I look for a 3 point game, but I’d give that 3 to Steelers given that the Bengals are going with a backup QB.
This game could turn brawl, though, and everyone knows it.
My fear is that the referees become the story and not the players.
Cinci has a much better defense, but McCarron hasn't shown himself to be a great QB, I seriously doubt he can be better than Dalton, who is (was) on the verge.
It's possible they squeek by, but I doubt it.
JMHO.
McCarron has been exceptional so far for a backup.
Dalton was better, he was having an exceptional year.
Seems to be a nice young man.
Exceptional QB's right now: Ben R, R Wilson, Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning (maybe, used to be last year), and possibly a couple of others.
I don’t know about 10, but they lack a running game now, and that imbalance will do them in.
Exceptional FOR a backup
Depends which Steelers team shows up and yes, I love my Steelers but they have not been consistent all season.
