Actually there are several ways to hold those “private” style conversations, one is to fully utilize the “private reply” feature. You can add more than one recipient to the reply string. Second one can always take a conversation to a section of the forums called the ‘smoky backroom.’
Then there are the State boards too, which often seem very underutilized.
Hope that gives you some ideas to investigate. Plus there is a freepathon underway and any contributions to maintain the site would be helpful.
YouTube, Facebook, etc. are really privately held entities, so they can remove stuff they don’t like, just like we can on FR.
thanks....I’ve never used the private reply much...and didn’t think about a “string”....are the smoky backrooms by “admission only?” State boards are nice, but still too public....I want something where a group of people who actually KNOW each other can chat without public exposure. It could make FB less relevant for a lot of my friends...any help appreciated.
