When I went in Navy in 56 my grandfather admonished me as there was a R in the White House and there was no war going on. Funny thing was that Ike was a ‘hero’ to all and could just as well run as a D but once he put the ‘R’ on, he became a ‘traitor’.
I was away and didn’t vote in 1960 but I definitely would not have voted for Kennedy - something to this day I am reluctant to mention to my family....what is left(<:) of them.
