Ted Cruz to His Supporters: 'Strap on the Full Armor of God, Attacks Are Coming'
PJ Media ^ | 01-01-2016 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 01/02/2016 2:39:19 AM PST by Michael van der Galien

Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.

Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.

Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:

"There’s a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."

That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."

"We’re winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. We’ve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ain’t seen nothing yet."

He added:

"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

Ted Cruz is the real deal. He walks the Christian Way.

The “Elmer Gantry” in this race is Huckabee. Like usual.

Ah yes only the rich should run for President, if you aren’t Rich and can pay your own way you should run. That’s why I am holding out for Bill Gates! If Trump is a great candidate because he is rich than Bill who can buy and sell a hundred Trumps with his petty cash would be a 1000 times better!

True, but there’s also a solid conservative running: Ted Cruz. It’s beyond me why conservative voters would prefer Trump while they can still vote for Cruz!

True one thing I just recently discovered is that there are FReepers who don’t care for Christians almost as much as ISIS.

:-) I have to ask....what’s Godly about asking people to sacrifice their last expendable $5 to a campaign that’s collected $20 million in this quarter?

Who did that? Donald Trump? Cause Ted Cruz sure as heck never asked anyone to donate their last $5 to him.

Same here. I like how Trump has paved the way for Ted but I see early upsets and Ted wraps it up in the time-frame he mentions.

Trump trusts his own instincts. He has not hired high-paid consultants or focus group experts to advise him. Rather, he gets input from his small staff and seems to listen at a deeper level to needs of the American people he seeks to serve.

from the link provided.

Translation: Trump relies on his own ego for guidance and not on a well considered conservative philosophy. If he gains office and the inevitable pinch comes, Trump will not govern as a conservative but as the egoist he is. Sociopaths, for example (this is not to slander Trump as a sociopath) like Bill Clinton are phenomenally adept at understanding what people want to hear and serving it up to them. This ability is also present in individuals like Donald Trump who are not necessarily social paths but guided by a strong ego.

We want as president a man of character who is a principled conservative whose instincts are conservative and who, like great patriotic Americans, has the indispensably necessary humility to submerge his ego for the greater principle.

Agreed.

I kinda get it that Donald is the better barker, but Ted can hold his own in a debate

No kidding. Some here like to post from The Conservative Treehouse. Their website proudly promotes the authority of man over the authority of God. That is not a belief system I want to have anything to do with and in my opinion no way reflects conservative Constitutional thought.

And so why would anyone place themselves in the eclipse of the orbit of plant Trump?

Unfortunately, most of the people posting in this thread are not Christians at all, but part of the same apostate church that gives inordinate seriousness to televangelists and mega church pastors who-- a couple hundred years ago-- would be regarded as theological idiots even by lay people.

The Christian church in America is desperately sick. There is little good about it.

HOW is it un-Christian to
.....build a wall to keep our citizens safe from foreign intruders?

.....respecting our veterans ...who have been ignored and shuffled off to die....while illegals are welcomed with open arms and wallets?

......desiring to build up our military stronger and more fortified.....
Instead of relegating them to programs of social experiments, & constant efforts to weaken, ignore and ridicule

......negotiate strong deals in trading that will benefit the USA

Return jobs to the homeland and the millions of Americans out of work!!!!

I can’t see a single un-Christian tenet in any of this.
