Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.
Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.
Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:
"Thereâs a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."
That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."
"Weâre winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. Weâve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ainât seen nothing yet."
He added:
"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

The difference between us is that I’ve read vastly more of Sundance’ work than you have. To give you one example: he is not shy about making predictions based on his analysis. I have personally seen an uncanny number of his predictions turn out to be absolutely correct.
So how is your prediction that Trump could never win the Republican nomination coming along? How has that panned out for you?
I’m saying that Cruz is in favor of raising the retirement age on young voters and that seems more important than his “armor of God” statement.I personally am not in favor of having my retirement age raised and that’s why Cruz doesn’t get any more of my money or support in this PRIMARY election.
So I guess you just can’t be man enough to admit that we have no choice but to raise the retirement age - not for anyone who’s retiring soon - but for those who are young now.
There is no other way out. Congratulations on using MSNBC talking points on this issue. We know now you have a liberal reflex.
I never predicted that.......you are indeed a fantasy fiction writer.
My track record since 1992 would blow you and your boy friend away.
1. Not one of the “Chosen”.
2. A liar.
Now why don't you show me ANY mail from Ted Cruz asking anyone to send him their last $5 like you claimed?
There is no such mail. However that never stopped crazy, stupid weasel, lying Trumpbots like you from repeating that lie anyways.
Chuckle!
No one, but no one has fought the GOPe in Washington like Ted Cruz has. Trump has done nothing but bloviate and make empty promises. Talk is cheap.
I like Ted Cruz but I wish he would stop with the scripture bible thumping Oratory
Why don’t you FReepmail your e-mail addy and I’ll send you the PDF of the e-mail I received this morning?
“No one, but no one has fought the GOPe in Washington like Ted Cruz has.”
**Chuckle**. Ted Cruz has lost virtually every battle with the GOPE, with literally no support from most of the other so-called conservative senators.
If he was successful, you guys would have a ready list of all of his successes. All you have is “He fought the GOPe” as if that means jack.
“Trump has done nothing but bloviate and make empty promises”
Trump is NOT a member of congress. unless you forgot that. And if his promises are empty, then what makes you think the senator whose own party has easily defeated 100% of the time in the senate going to promise that will be any more realistic?
“Talk is cheap”
Ok? And besides talk, what was Cruz’s big achievements in the Senate?
We knew we were getting a massive amnesty for illegals, with no border security, plus a surrender to Islamic Jihad after Beirut?
Chuckle!
You had to go there didn't ya?
Read this and watch the video:
BOOM! Ted Cruz SCHOOLS Bret Baier on the false notion that he hasnât won any fights
Uh..... If that video was supposed to be the great rebuttal, I’ll advise you to not make too big a deal out of it.
It is.
Iâll advise you to not make too big a deal out of it.
I will. More than that, there are a few FR threads about it making a bid deal of it already, including this one:

With all due respect I was expecting a bit more. This is NOT something I hope forms the core of his “Ive been effective” sales pitch.
In a general election it will look just comical.
“Again, you do not understand business. I simply cannot believe you have any experience in contracting based on your comments.”
Likewise, I find it hard to believe that, based on your postings here, anyone reads your columns.
no one like you does.....but a lot of folks do. Again none like you at all.
Ignorance of history is a sad state. When Reagan made the amnesty deal with Congress, border security was a part of the deal. Sadly, Congress did the amnesty but not the border security. We now know that Congress does this, which is why we oppose a "comprehensive" immigration reform. But at the time, Reagan expected Congress to live up to its word. The deal Reagan made was conservative and in line with the principles he had espoused for years. Blame Congress for that failure. And a "surrender to Islamic Jihad"? I lived through that period, and I don't remember Reagan surrendering to anyone. But at that time, the issue was Muslim and Jewish conflict in the Middle East - Islam had not openly declared war on the entire West just yet.
You are making the mistake of viewing what happened in the 80's through the lens of our experiences at this point in time and conflating the two situations as being the same. Though there are some similarities, the times were very different.
