Ted Cruz to His Supporters: 'Strap on the Full Armor of God, Attacks Are Coming'
PJ Media ^ | 01-01-2016 | Michael van der Galien

Ted Cruz isn't only surging in the polls -- he's now in second place nationally and leads in Iowa -- he is also raising a truckload of money. In the last quarter of 2015 alone the Republican presidential candidate received almost $20 million from his supporters.

Not bad for a grassroots candidate who's despised and hated by his own party's leadership team.

Small wonder then that Cruz bragged about these results during a phone call with supporters, adding that he's confident he'll be the Republican nominee -- soon:

"There’s a very good possibility that the Republican primary will be decided by the end of March."

That doesn't mean, however, that he believes it's going to be an easy ride. Quite the opposite in fact: he also warned his supporters to get ready for an epic battle, telling them it would get "uglier and uglier and uglier."

"We’re winning right now, and as a result, I want to tell everyone to get ready. Strap on the full armor of God. Get ready for the attacks that are coming. We’ve already seen hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attacks directed at us. Well I went to tell you that come the month of January, we ain’t seen nothing yet."

He added:

"I want to encourage everyone to get ready, because starting tomorrow morning, we are in a 90-day sprint to win this nomination, and then to turn around and win the general election. To defeat Hillary Clinton in November of 2016 and to turn this country around."

It’s ridiculous on the face of it and Nixon did a pretty good job of digging the nation out of LBJs crap

Yeah, he did...which makes the comparison just another Trump fan attack from the left. They're good at that.

I know there is a disconnect between Trump’s past and his supporters.

These are not, “normal times”. I also remember Obama’s vagueness that drew in a lot of supporters who didn’t have a clue about him. Of course he had “no past”. It was all conjured out of thin air. Trump has a past that is known.

He knows who the global players are and how they operate. Question is his motive.

That aside, One man will not “fix this”. It is going to be a coordinated team effort if it is effective. The team that the next POTUS brings to DC will make or break the nation. GOPe is in the enemy camp, they will never “fix it”. It is in this mess because all the entrenched interests in DC want it to be this way. The thinking citizens do not.

But unfortunately it will be hard to stay the course unless the next POTUS is a dynamic (not static) thinker.

“That which is seen & that which is not seen (but would be best foreseen)” Bastiat

Good leaders can foresee. They do not see the future, but can see both the immediate effects of policy and change and those past the immediate. That is the missing ingredient.

Vision.

"Alrighty then!"

Unfamiliar with the reference? Not surprising, really.

You are aware, I assume, that you're making a pornographic joke about a Scripture verse?

“And so why would anyone place themselves in the eclipse of the orbit of plant Trump?”

Once again, it would be Trump placing Ted, not Ted placing Ted.

...has the indispensably necessary humility to submerge his ego for the greater principle.

Good luck finding that in any presidential candidate.

I submit that it's impossible to rise and get through the nominating process without a very substantial ego. Anyone wanting their candidate to not be a politician first and foremost is going to be very disappointed.

I grew up around “progressives.” Most of my family were UAW and Teamsters. My brother is a card carrying member of both the ACLU and American Communist Party.

They, especially my brother, make jokes like yours.

Maybe KOS or DU would be more to your ideologies.

'True, but there's also a solid conservative running: Ted Cruz. It's beyond me why conservative voters would prefer Trump while they can still vote for Cruz!'

I offer this not as argument, but as explanation so that you can understand, if not agree, with many who are hoping for Trump for 8 years, followed by Ted.

Imagine that you wish to have children to continue your legacy, but you have cancer that will kill you in 1 year, so you must start your family right now. You feel that your most important next choice is the woman who will bear your children and who, after a year, will raise them.

You meet the perfect woman. But there is a problem. A magician has cast a magic spell upon her such that she can not get pregnant for another two years.

In this case, I, and many others, believe that elected president now, Cruz, while virtually perfect, does not have the charismatic hold on enough Americans move the country. The magician in this case is simply conditions. Elected today, he does not have the power to create the energy necessary to rally Americans to keep/elect the legislators necessary to actually have his will turn into governance (children, if you will.) He would disappoint none of us in what he intended to do. But it would not get done, nothing would change. (He can not get pregnant and have kids.)

On the other hand, there is this imperfect, ugly woman over here who perhaps can get pregnant. If they both cooperated in raising the children for the first years, and then the first took over when the kids were a few years old, you would have achieved your end, imperfectly, but well.

I think most Trump supporters find Ted to be the better mother on paper. But the children must be conceived before he's able to get pregnant, so we knock up Trump and then let Cruz raise the kids. Otherwise, we get nothing other than some sex that amounts to nothing other than 'Hey! We Won the Election!.' We can run around celebrating that Cruz got elected but there will be no children and we will have no legacy.

I/We could be entirely wrong. But in my mind, it's not that people in enough number shouldn't follow Ted, it's that the country is not ready to follow, yet, and that's all that matters right now - that the country follow someone who will preserve the country.

Now, you may argue that Cruz CAN get pregnant. But that's a different argument from whether he's the better mother on paper. I'm betting most Trump supporters are thinking along these lines. If you convinced me that in addition to Cruz on paper being an almost perfect choice, that he could, at this early stage in his political career, rally the country, actually get stuff done, when his own party hates him and the other party hates him even more and way more than they hate Trump, then I'm all for Cruz now rather than later.

Another simple way of putting it is that 80% of 80% is 64, and 40% of 100% is 40. If the Republic dies with anything less than 50, then you go for the 80% of 80% candidate, because paper perfection is death in that case.

Exodus 28:4, 36, 42 (NASB)

4 “These are the garments which they shall make: a breastpiece and an ephod and a robe and a tunic of checkered work, a turban and a sash, and they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons, that he may minister as priest to Me.

36 “You shall also make a plate of pure gold and shall engrave on it, like the engravings of a seal, ‘Holy to the LORD.’

42 “You shall make for them linen breeches to cover their bare flesh; they shall reach from the loins even to the thighs.

The golden garments

The golden garments consisted of eight items: tunic, belt, turban, pants, breastplate, ephod, robe, and a golden head plate. Over the white tunic, he put on the sky-blue robe, hemmed with decorative pomegranates and bells which rang as he moved around. Then he put on the ephod, which looked like an apron and was fastened by a long belt. There were two shoulder-straps sewn onto the belt. These straps went behind, up and over the priest’s shoulders. Two sardonyx stones were attached at the ends of these straps, on the shoulders. He also put on a breastplate, set with twelve precious stones, one stone representing each of the twelve tribes of Israel. His turban differed from those of the ordinary priests, and had in front a golden plate inscribed “Holy to the Lord”.

These were called “golden garments,” because gold, the symbol of splendor, appeared in them. More about the priestly garments...

I do believe it is you that needs to clean your mind...if you remember Aaron wore a breastplate....your a filthy minded person, unworthy to even comment on anything on here....

Mrs. duffee was really put off by Trump in the first debate when he stated he “bought” people. It is her belief that those who buy and bribe people can themselves be bought and bribed. She question his ethics, I question his resolve to restore our Constitutional government and reduce our bloated bureaucracy.

Just tell me that if Ted Cruz is on the Republican ticket in November you will go out and vote for him. We thought Richard Nixon was a Conservative and he gave us the EPA!

He sees you and knows what you meant. When you stand in judgement everyone will know every word and every thought.

That’s something very profound to contemplate.

Of course, there’s no reason to worry about that right now. Have fun with your weasely little word games and double entendres.
