[[No. I can see it in the device manager and it gives me this: ST380011 A USB device. The properties drop down says itâs working ok but no drive letter.]]
There’s a step you have to take to set a volume or something on it, or maybe a partition- I just had to go through this a few months back- Later tonight I’ll look it up for you- ping me so I will know to do so when I get back- but ocne you have the volume or whatever set- it assigns a letter to the hard-drive-
Try this page for now
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/f/partition-hard-drive.htm
Basically the steps are
1: click start button
2: type partititons
3: You should see it listed there as ‘disk 1 or osemthing- hovering mouse over it should say ‘unallocated’ you need to set a volume on it- New Simple Volume which you’ll see when you right click
Follow isntrucitosn from #6 on- print htem out so you have them on desk to read while doing all this
Whoo Hoo! That worked. It’s now formatting! Wait’ll I tell my bro - didn’t think his little sis could do it. Hah! Thankee thankee thankee. L/Janey
