I hope so. Then I can teleport away from all the psychos on this planet.
Nope, not without a LOT of R&D damage getting there, and a society that would devalue human life that much I want no part of.
Michael Crichton used something like this in one of his novels- ‘Timeline’ I think it was. Teleportation and time travel. Very entertaining as all of his books were.
Away Team to Enterpirse.
No problem...just that little quirk of putting trillions of atom back in order to rematerialize in the correct order perfectly...
or you get a pile of goop...
Unfortunately, the process of recreating you elsewhere involves destroying the original.
has great potential...we could beam the Muslims to Pluto
You’ve also got to have the computing power to plot the location of every atom in an object and recreate it elsewhere.
The dirty secret of the star trek transporters is that it kills the original and recreates it elsewhere.

Here’s a summary so you don’t have to look at Nimrod’s photo:
The Jaunt
“It’s a futuristic tale that takes place in the 24th century, as a father explains the ground rules for “Jaunting,” a form of teleportation the family will be using shortly to go to Mars. The key is that travelers must be under anesthesia for the short journey, or terrible things happen to the mind of those being jaunted around the solar system. Time stands still and one’s brain implodes with too much time to think in an absence of external stimulation. Bad things happen.”
Just have to watch those transcription errors.
And the open secret of Star Trek is their denial of a soul, which can never be destroyed and recreated by science.
The recreated "thing" would be a hollow shell.
Back in the Sixties, I read an article in Scientific American about Tachyons. Very interesting theoretical particle. Instead of losing speed when it hits another particle, it gains speed and energy. FTL particle. It was theorized that some Tacyons had had so many collisions and gained so much energy and speed that they were “everywhere, all the time!” I haven’t kept up with the research, but I will read up. I’m more into Spaghettification right now.

It’s already been done. Infinity allows for it to have happened and to happen again. You just may not live long enough to see it in action and realize it.
I think I remember reading “The Jaunt”.
At the other end of the jaunt the kid was insane from near eternity alone in oblivion.
Yeah, he didn’t breathe the knockout gas.
Dumbass.
