I dislike GW Bush, both personally and as president. I dislike his wars and the nasty aftereffects, I dislike the crazy core curriculum, I dislike his attempted appointment of Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court, I dislike his taking off the weekend before the 2000 election which probably led to Florida and the loss of the popular vote. I dislike his cozying up to the Clintons while trashing conservatives. I dislike his near total inattentiveness to his job as President in the last couple of years he was in office.

... which probably led to Florida and the loss of the popular vote. Our formerly-free representative Republic was not designed as a direct democracy (popular vote, mob rules). To avoid the tyranny of "popular vote" democracy, the Founders established the electoral college.

We all should get our history straight. The reason why Bush took the weekend off was because of the news about him having a DWI 20 years previous hit like a bombshell then. The campaign was struggling that weekend trying to deal with it. It was not some scheme to throw the election to Gore! I am convinced that Bush would have won the popular vote outright and had a clear majority in the electoral college, had the news not broke, or if he had dealt with it months before.
