Our formerly-free representative Republic was not designed as a direct democracy (popular vote, mob rules). To avoid the tyranny of "popular vote" democracy, the Founders established the electoral college.
I understand that; but the loss of the popular vote delegitimized his Administration in the minds of too many.
And .. the DemocRATS are busy trying to take away the Electoral College and have mob rule.
How did we not see that coming ..??
