I was at "the game" in Anaheim, Al Michaels called it one for the ages...he was right. RIP.

I was there too and as an Angels fan it was heartbreaking, at least until 2002 when they finally won the World Series. Hendu was a great player in his own right, and as clutch a hitter as you could find. RIP Dave. Condolences to your family.

Wasn’t he just on Tim McCarver’s show?

Hendu was a class act; always enjoyed watching him play, and his big gap grin!

WHAT a fine ballplayer he was. He is with our good Lord now.

What I remember about Henderson is that he was winner. The teams he played for went to the playoffs except for his first team, the Seattle Mariners who were really bad in 80’s.
RIP Hendu.

He was truly an amazing athlete.

Now both Donnie Moore and Henderson are gone.I recall reading that Moore was haunted by that game for the rest of his life.Don't know if it's *true*,however.

Top of the 9th, 2 strikes ... WOW! Just loved seeing him start to 1st and jump-twirl in exuberance! Happiness for Boston, pain for the Angels!
